It's too bad that she is getting bad remarks from miss america officials about that statement when she utilized her right to free speech just as pro same sex marriage indivuals use when arguing their point.
But the end thing in Hollywood is the support of gay marriage. Everytime I hear something like this it makes me laugh and realize that unless you are the minority you have no rights and will be judged for anything you say.

We can all use our right to free speech.. just don't expect to suffer zero consequences for your actions. I think its a dumb ass question for this type of venue to begin with... I mean your damned if you do and damned if you don't depending on who is judging the competition.
I think if a person has the cajones to speak their mind then they should be fully prepared to accept that not everyone will agree... and that's ok too except in this situation she should have said whatever would give her a better chance to win... the playing field changes when competitive strategy is involved.

Hollywood (whoever that is) has the freedom to support gay marriage all they want as do any of us. Your last statement about rights is a little out of left field though. Can you be more specific about what rights minorities currently enjoy over their in the majority counterparts?
Again, we are all judged by what comes out of our mouths or the actions we perform regardless of your status in society. Perhaps you are referring to equal judgement? Again, please clarify.

That was funny as hell, I heard on the KQ morniing show this morning. It took gut's for her to say what she believed knowing the repercussions of the judges. Like said above, why the hell is that kind of question being asked in the first place?? Never ask a question you if your not prepared for the answere you don't want to hear.

I completely agree, i'm just glad she said what she "felt" was correct. It's just too bad that honesty isn't apparently a traith worth more in that competition.

Im just saying if you say something as a white male you get torn apart, if your anyone else no one says dick to you because they might offend you. Perfect example when Kramer got torn apart for using the N-word, yet there are many black comedians who make racist and derogatory statements towards whites and no one gets their shorts in a bunch because of it? I just get sick of people being politically correct and getting all worked up when people have thoughts and beliefs that someone might get offended by. Wasnt our country founded by people who wanted the freedom to have their own thoughts, feelings and beliefs and not have to worry about being prosecuted for them if someone doesnt agree with it? Maby Im wrong :duno: But that was y thought process for my statement.
