I have been doing some shopping and am in the market for a .45 and really like the Springfield XD(M) but they currently only offer this pistol in a 9mm & .40. Has anyone heard anything regarding if Springfield is planning to introduce this piston in a .45 caliber? Please please say yes....?? :naughty:
Thanks,
-John

Hey Vrooom,
Yep, I was aware that Springfield offered a .45 in the XD series, but I really like the "feel" of the XD(M). I know this may sound stupid but I like the ergo's of the XD(M)'s....
Thanks,

That is not stupid at all, its probably the most important part of picking out a handgun.
I don't know when the .45's will be coming out, but you can bet they will be. I would keep an ear to the ground on the XD forum.

If you like the feel of the XD(M) you should try the new HK P30. I got to handle one at Bill's
gun shop last week and this was probably the most comfortable guns I've handled. Too bad it's a little
more than I looking to spend. Anyone know of any deals out there?

I have a M&P .4O, best gun I own. My friend just bought a M&P .45compact, really nice and well balanced as well. Mine has over 1000 rds with not 1 hiccup, friends .45 has around 100 with no problems either. Both of us used to run with glocks, both also wanted new xdm's. We just don't care for the grips. Can't go wrong with M&P's, Glocks, or XD's anymore, they all are superb and you should buy based on how it fits your hand.

I *love* the Springfield 1911 Operator but it's way out of my price range. I haven't fired a XDm yet but I do like the XD .40. I've fired the HK/S&W/Glock .40s and I liked the feel of the XD the best. But, as previously stated in this thread, it's all about how the gun feels in your hand. I'll have to check out that XDm next time I'm at Bill's.
Have you tried looking at a .45 GAP? .40 size frame, .45 stopping power. Awesome for C&C/home defense but kinda jumpy for target shooting.
