Jim, I agree with all that.

I still have my 600RR, but my Gom has been >95% of my street riding. It's just so much damn fun right now. Big bike fun has gone down hill after racing on the track yet for some reason small bikes are so much damn fun. Must be because I can push the limits of a small bike very easily on the streets, where I cannot do it as easily on a big bike.

As I say in my book...
(that's such a pompous ass way of starting a conversation :P )

Commuting on my Aprilia RS50 is much more fun then on my Honda RC51.
The big Honda seems bored. Barely breathing. Almost asleep.
THe little Aprilia seems jacked! Screeming with excitement the whole time.

I like little bikes but I think I'm going to sell the Aprilia. Just got a 2017 leftover Ninja 300 ABS for $4881 out the door. I'll have to see if the mpg on the Ninja is good enough to let me give up the screemer.

Doesn't the Ninja 400 have the same HP as the 300 to meet that whole Euro A2 insurance tier or whatever...

^^ This. Commuting on my Z125 has been the most fun I've had going to/from work EVER.

My Super Grom thread in the Projects forum is almost done. I never thought I'd build up a motor, but the little bike bug has been addictive. I still have a 2nd Grom that will stay stock, motorwise. Just small things like bars, gears etc for that bike. The stock motor with -1/+3 gears has been TONS of fun and damn close to perfect. I still just want a little extra pep, so the engine build happened. I'm stoked to get it running.

Didn't think I'd be considered elderly at (almost 30) I miss the days of Caribou rides before they were known as the death rides. Met some of my best friends to this day, 12-13 years ago up "at 'bou". I don't have a full sized street bike any more. Just the grom and the honda. Woudln't mind a full sized bike again, but they aren't as much appealing when you have a cage that hangs with liter bikes on the highway. The grom I can go around "banging corners" And look down to only see 30-40mph. lol
