I've had Kent out for 3 trees so far and have referred him to friends and family. Always does a great job and had his son help as well, highly recommend their services.

Where about's do you do work? I have a tree that seemed perfectly fine last year (to my unskilled arborists eye), and this year it's either dead or taking a long winters nap. Tall oak.

Hey Brian,

I sent you a PM with my phone number. I'd love to come up to Coon Rapids and look over the oak. It will give me a destination for a ride with the wife. We will be around all weekend and through the 4th so any day/time would work but Saturday is preferred. I'll be stuck in the basement writing code for an Atmel E70 processor otherwise so a riding break would be great.

You ever come down to La Crosse, WI for work? I have two HUGE trees that I think might need to come down. Just had a limb fall on my garage sometime in the last few days.

If your bid last year on my big ash stands I'm ready to have it gone. After you're all healed up of course. Sucks about your crash.

If I was going to be there anyway, maybe.
It is a bit too far for my weekend hobby, sorry.

I'm going in Friday to the specialist. Seems that I have two broken bones so it may be a bit before I'm ready for work but I'll be in touch and we'll get it done before fall.

Money well spent! Kent and his brother did a great job getting this monster down in a less than ideal location piece by piece.

Just wanted to take the time to post up another referral for Kent. Took down a tree I hated in my front yard, and he and his son hauled away all the brush as well. Great job, all on budget. Super value. When I can dedicate more funds to tree removal, I will definitely have Kent back for more.

Thanks for the positive reviews. I'll continue working hard to make clients happy. My son, Duke, seems to be coming along great as well. I'm trying to instill a good work ethic in the boy.

I'm all caught back up on work after my 2 months off with broken tibia and fibula (motorcycle, not tree related). After this Thursday, I have no more jobs scheduled so let me know if you need something. I still need the exercise.
If anyone knows email or phone number for "stiers" please let them know I may be able to get to La Crosse sometime this fall. I left a PM but I don't know if that will be read anytime soon.

For the foreseeable future, rates for MNSBR members will continue at:
$60/hour for Kent solo labor.
$75/hour for Kent & Duke working together.
$50/load for hauling debris in my 4' x 8' pickup bed. We can pile quite a bit in there (ask gdubya or JohnnyCage).

estimate for taking down all 5 pine trees (with and without hauling away)? I'm considering doing it myself in the spring but the biggest hassle will probably be getting them up the hill into the front yard to get loaded into a truck/trailer.

I'm sure I could get each to the ground and cut up in an hour but without being there to see things in person, I'd give a cap cost of 1.5 hours per tree.
So, no more than 1.5 x 5 x $60 = $450 to have them all down and cut up to individual branches and logs that can be easily moved.
However, my guess is that I'd have them easily done for under an hour each and I'll only charge for the time I work so no more than $450 but probably under $300. If they are ready to fell with one cut (short enough and no worry about collateral damage when falling) they may be as little as 30 minutes per tree ($150 total).
Felling/Cutting: $150 to $450

I would rather show up on my bike after work and not need to haul them away but if you wanted to pay for removal, I'd guess (without seeing them in person) about 3 or 4 loads and maybe an hour per load labor to fill the truck (if the walk to the truck is the time consuming task). So removal would be capped at 4 x $50 + 4 x $60 = $440. But, if you are helping with the dragging or you pay my son to be dragging while I'm cutting, most of that labor cost would be saved.
Dragging/Hauling: $150 (three loads, you fill) to $440 (four loads, we fill)

For someone I haven't worked for yet, I'm always willing to come out and spend an hour to show what I can do. If you are happy, you pay for that hour and I keep working. If not happy with the production, don't pay anything. Let me know if you want me out there about 4:30 some day next week and I'll show you what I can do. It's a no-risk deal for you and I'll get at least an hour of exercise.

Had Kent out last weekend to take down a tree in my back yard and trim up one in my front yard. This is the 2nd time that Kent has been out to my house and he does great work. His kid is a hard worker as well.

Thanks Kent!!

No problem. Thanks for the work.

Anyone know how to get ahold of "stiers"? My brother and I may be able to do some work in La Crosse in a few weeks.
