Sounds like Honda is testing a big bang motor as well like Yamaha.

Yamaha uses an I-4 so they call it a cross-plane crank. Basically you get a different firing order (that's why the R1 sounds like a combo of a 4 cylinder and a twin).

Honda and Ducati have been using a V-4 engine which is supposed to achieve the same thing, although now Honda is trying something new for 2017 (or at least testing now). Unsure if Honda moved to an I-4 or if they just changed the firing order of their V-4.

Oh, that was easy.

Didn't know Yami's GP bikes were I-4's.

Honda is still running a V-4. I read something where Marquez said he tested the new engine in the old bike, and as we all know, there is no way they bolted an I-4 into a V-4 chassis.

Also, one day I am going to copy the graphics on Iannone's bike. Usually, I'm not a fan of the way most pro bikes look due to all the sponsorship decals, but I love the simplicity and chains of molecules. I just need a white plate of my own first...

That was my guess, and it didn't sound quite as deep as Yamaha's either.

Iannone's bike looks accurate with a "Maniac" sticker and a cross-hair up front.

Maverick and Smiths bikes look amazing.

But I think I like the simplicity and pure carbon look of Pol's bike best. SEXY! Posted Image

Looks like Rins is out for a few months (injured back) after crashing the Suzuki. Iannone crashed in literally the same spot minutes later (tucked the front end in a braking zone).

Great photo.

To my instructor friends who teach a screwdriver throttle grip, how do you explain A ) why it is not needed at this level - but is needed in track day Novice and B ) why it is worth giving up cornering angle to change grip on the bars - since sticking your dragging elbow out to change hand angle would give up lean? :deadhorse:

My guess is there is probably some deception from the photo angle and he likely has different angled clip ons than most normal trackday riders or club racers. I'm thinking he has at least some partial screwdriver grip, just tough to see.

Just a guess.
