I'm not close to you at all, but it's awesome to see a ride post here!

No kidding it's dead.

Seems everyone has gone over to book-face or twits or something. I know there are groups out on the other social media stuff who post up rides but I don't care about finding them.

My riding-around-just-for-the-ride days are behind me now. I still ride a bike any time I go anywhere (that doesn't need the truck to haul crap) but I need a reason beyond just-to-ride.

Maybe someone will post how to hook up with the different groups on Facebook or whatever.

Luck!

Yeah, FB is a shit show. If you can manage your social affairs without it, stay far far away.

I use it for social event scheduling and event promotion. It has it's benefits, but the downfalls are quite steep.

No booky face for me.

I just got home from a 3,000 ride in the Ozarks. :HappyDance1:

Headed to the SW Wisconsin alphabets in a few weeks.

Yeah I'd say I'm a pretty typical MNSBR'r and this core crowd is ageing out, and the newer crowd is going to those newer places.

Joined up in my 20's, rode and posted alot. Got married, had kids, riding has become less and less. Nowadays all I have is a 125cc scooter and it hasn't been started in a year. My story is probably similar to many of the 20 somethings that joined up 10ish years ago that made it very active. Yes there are some folks that keep motorcycling a priority but for most people it takes a back seat once family life begins.

Maybe we old timers should return to doing a ride once or twice a month. I'd be up for a 30-60 minute ride, hour or two for food and fun conversation, ride home.

I'm in my late 50s now.
Riding since 1985. Started CRA and CCS racing in 1994.
Stopped racing back around 2002.
Stopped track riding as an instructor/teacher about 2004.
Stopped joining day rides about 2006 because I thought they were making me an arrogant prick. Plus I think I pissed off some core group friends because of some philosophy I shared and felt a bit ostracized. (I still stand behind my perfectly valid philosophy that if you go down, it was your fault regardless of circumstances. No excuses are valid.)

Now I just ride to get where I need to go but still love being on the bike instead of sitting in a box.

Every Saturday and most Sundays are now filled with my side-gig doing tree work but I think adding a 4 hour block for riding and socializing a few times a month would be welcomed and maybe keep me from becoming a totally isolated old curmudgeon.

Anyway, I'm booked this weekend and next for tree work.

Anyone interested in a sporty (but not competitive) Wisconsin alphabet road ride to lunch (at some outdoor spot) and friendly (and perhaps argumentative but not hostile) conversation in the future?

Let us know when and where to meet up. If I'm not scheduled to be up a tree, I'll try to make it.

It's an annual 3 day weekend ride south of Wildcat Mountain. Oct 2-4.
