You should take it down to the Herrin compound. :rockwoot:

When I'm rich I'll build my own track.

DCTC works really well for Groms. The 181 is perfect. But stock motors are still a blast. Kinda like riding a Ninja 250 at BIR.

So now that you have split the case and done one build, you have all the kinks worked out you are ready to build a 2nd right?

If I needed a new motor build for myself, I would be okay with it. I'm definitely much more confident in doing it.

If you're wondering if I would do it for someone else, probably not. Mostly because I don't have time. If I had time over the winter, sure, but I would have to charge something. It's just a lot of time and effort. If I received JUST an engine and the new motor kit, that would be ideal. I hate all the piddly shit of dropping the motor and getting through all the peripherals around it.

I actually have a set of forks I need to work on tonight for a friend. New Grom suspension is so so so worth the cost.

I'm trying to justify putting a stroker crank along with a BBK, but it just seems like so much more work to drop the motor and split the case.

And I agree with you about the suspension. I was out at DCTC on my Z and I felt like I was on a see-saw if I wasn't super smooth on the throttle while moving my body around.

My kit wasn't giving me the benefit of being a stroker, but I feel it was still worth splitting the case to install the forged rod and bearings. It would be more worth the effort if you were getting a stroker out of it. All in all, it's a big project either way. Might as well choose the bigger of the big options to get what you want out of your effort. They are still small engines that are relatively simple things. But like I mentioned before, there were a couple unique things that made me research for a long time to make sure I was doing everything right. It was just small details that the youtube videos skipped over and were not in any instruction book or service manual. But the online community pulled through in most of those cases. Or I eventually found the info after searching forever and reading tons of posts in hopes someone mentioned what I needed in all those many online discussions I found.

Really??

You still have other small wheelie machines to fill the void?

Yeah, I still have my Zuma, ysr50, zb50 maybe another small bike in there somewhere. I can't remember. That new 2019 Monkey looks sweet, though.

It does look awesome. But $4k MSRP? That's nuts.
