New here (forum and MN) so Hi to all. Heard about this community from a guy I met on a plane from Punta Cana to Mpls in March (if you read this shoot me a msg).
Before you flame me - I know there is a stick thread about good/trusted mechanics but I am still needing a little help. I am not overly framiliar with the area, and that post didnt provide alot of detail. I am in Mpls for the summer and the speedo on my F4I isn't working right. I had a good friend mess with it one day, and I think we basically decided it has to be the sensor is dirty or going bad. I am just looking for a recommendation for a shop that could do this job for me at a decent price. I am a college student, so money is very much an issue (and yes i know if you want really good work you have to pay for it, but I am hoping some of you may still have a recommendation). i also need to get a new front tire put on.
So where would you all recommend i go for a decent labor rate and quality work. I live in Mpls and work in Eagan, so either of those would be really convenient, but would be willing to travel around the Cities as well.
en
Thanks in advanced

Did you test the speedo pick up?? Give Lloyd a call 952-334-5838.
$20.00 on the tire mount and balance and I am sure he could test the speedo sensor etc, pretty quickly ( ie...inexpensive)

I know there are a lot of garage mechanics on here that could help out with a bad speedo sensor, but if that fails I would think that we could look to our wonderful sponsors. Anybody know if this is something Simply Sport Bikes could take care of? Otherwise Riverzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz is always a option.

its not that the speedo is off, which would warrant a speedoheeler, its flat out doesnt work at all most of the time. The digital readout works fine because when you turn the key it counts up and appears fine. Rarely the speed with display my speed, but the majority of the time it simply reads 0, and my odometer doesnt register any miles.
