Hey everyone,

As you may be aware, the current Board of Directors is making a big push to make the CRA as good as it possibly can be. Part of that is being open to criticism and new ideas. If you have any great new ideas, or would like to point out things that you think could be improved, this is where to voice it.

That being said, please keep this thread free of negativity as that won't solve anything. I will edit or delete any posts that I feel aren't accomplishing anything other than raising the blood pressure of other people.

Oh, and if you feel the need to point out things we've been doing right, we'd love to hear that, too!

Lots and lots of things done right.

I've kind of wondered about bike classes, and the weekend scheduling for a "normal" weekend (sprints + TD). From what I understand, in the old days they'd run supersport on Saturday, then guys would spend the evening modding their bikes to run the superbike races on Sunday. That's not really done anymore, so does the weekend still need to be structured to accomodate that? Is there a better way to organize the sprint races?

Not sure I really have an answer, just something I've thought about for a while.

and +1 to the announcer, Agassi has done a great job the few times I've heard him do it.

i'm glad to see press releases back. how about people paying to pit on the short track new padock? the money could be used for whatever needs it within the club and then we could eliminate the scramble to get there on a thrs night and cut down on the sloppy pitting that happens. similar effect to fletchers pit mapping he did last aug. Just an idea

New website = A+
Press releases and "more" updates = A+
I do like the fact that they are RSS feeds so they import over here and automatically can start a discussion. That's swell.

I would like an announcer as well, I remember Birch did it a few races last year when I was spectating and that was great. Understandably this can be difficult although if the announcer gives some racer background that is cool for spectators who don't know everyone.

Live timing.

All I can think of for now.

The grid markers on the short course are an awesome addition. How about something on the long track? I know we can't paint on the drag strip but is there a way to do something temporary? Chalk maybe? It wouldn't work to well in the rain though.
+3 on an announcer! That weekend on the short course last year was awesome with him announcing.

Same here. I remember it happening once or twice before. I felt like it made the crowd feel more like a part of the whole race weekend.

Plus it was cool when you where sitting in the pits to here how our other racers where doing.

To go along with the announcing, I can remember a few times when Marc Chiodo came down trackside on the cooldown lap with a microphone and stopped the top three on their bikes when they came in and gave a quick interview from each of them over the PA. That was pretty cool!!

+1 on the announcing. Many of the people I've brought up to the track were lucky enough to be there when we had one and LOVED it!
Could we take up a collection, and or make this a compensated position? What it adds to the event from a spectating aspect is amazing with the right person behind the mic. I know we all should be paid for all we do in a perfect world, but this connects directly with the enjoyment of the event, as well as educating our spectators. Besides, the Stewards, BOD, and Workers are worth more than gold- so payment would be a slap in the face... B)

I pledge $25 towards an announcer.
