I've never been but I'm thinking of going to the ride tomorrow. Anyone else?
2018 I-Cycle Derby

My 15 minute test ride at -13 degrees this morning let me know I'll need heaters to tolerate the event so I pulled the WR250R inside and wired up some glove liners.

Say hey tomorrow. My Roy's Repair ETA is about 9:15-9:30.

I got 4th place by cheating. It helps that only 12 riders were entered.

After riding order was randomly assigned, I was slotted #8 behind a serious looking rider #7 with clipboard and stopwatch mounted to his Grom for the event.

Not being able to read the direction cards, (I'm at an age where I require reading glasses) I just followed rider 7 around, waited for him to check-in and ran the Final Jeopardy 30-second wait song through my head twice as I crept up to check in after him.

Maybe next time I'll buy some anti-fog goggles with a reader prescription bi-focal (if such a thing exists).

If there's anyone more hardcore on this board than Kent, I haven't met them!

I thought about doing that ride back in about 1980 when it was hosted by Millhoff Steel in Bloomington. Back then, it was hard just to get the bike to run properly. I imagine fuel injection and 0W oils makes this a little easier today.

Someone let Casey know I'm willing to swap the 4th place for 5th place.

I should have realized while still at the event that he deserves the higher place as he did all the work. I'm just pissed that he didn't get us a 2nd and 3rd.

Victor ran a perfect 0,0,0,0,0,0 for the event so 1st was out of reach.

Yes, Victor W. from MMM. He ran a perfect 0 last year as well I'm told so that makes 12 legs in a row with perfect check-in times.
I may have to get the readers and give it a real try next year just to see how hard it actually is to be Victor like.
