Is it easy to make a supermono with a dirtbike chassis? Frame, forks, swingarm.

Firgure if suspension is sprung right, front and rear are lowered, use clipons, would it make for a usable platform on the cheap? Or is a dirt bike chassis only good for dirt style seating position?

I don't think I would ever do this. I'm just curious what could be done.

Christian used to sometimes race a dirtbike in LW (he ran a Ninja300 in ultralight) - the best I remember was a 1:46 on the short course. Believe it was a basically stock Yamaha 450 with supermoto wheels.

It doesn’t look like it would be too bad. Looks like Roland Sands was building them and sold/sells parts. I’m not sure of all your answers. I just remember them and thought they were really cool. I think they would be pretty competitive against the ninja too.

Some of those are/were BEAUTIFUL bikes, too!

The proper conversions aren't real cheap, but man they are sweet!

I like that. It gets super hard for tech otherwise. As I see it, a WR450 would be SS legal, but a YZ450 wouldn't be. Do you think the tech guys could tell the difference once its in race trim?

The issue with the WR450f is going to be the wheels - can you get an OEM 17" wheel for it?

Whats the rule change benefiting the motards? Just the lower displacement limit? Was there a proposal to make ul back to ss/sb/gp? Or will it still be GP only?

I "think" the benefit to motards is the lower displacement limit - i.e. take the big fish out of the small pond.

The downside to some of the proposals (at least for the motards) is the return of SS/SB/GP which would knock it out of 2 races. Though if they add the single cylinder frame requirement change for Superbike like CCS has, then it just loses 1 race (ultralight SS).

R3 would also get Moto 3 and 500GT races so a total of 4 classes
The way the races are scheduled it is very difficult to race lightweight and little bikes with CCS though

Right forgot Moto3! I didn't count the GT races since we do Trophy Dashes instead, same qualifications more or less.

I would imagine a change there soon now that the Ninja is a 400, and there is no current model year bike that fits their 300 class.

A lot of people were pushing for that for 2019! Basically just the people that currently owned N300's wanted it to stay (of course).

In talking to the guys that run CCS on little bikes, Ive only heard that they like our CRA class structure much better than CCS. And having raced three rounds at RA with CCS, I will agree. Their structure is set up for built up Ninja 300s, not R3s or 390s.

It surprised me a bit they stuck with the 300 only limit.
