I can't help but think that such a svelte bike could benefit from a pilot with a little less frontal area... :wiggle

Probably slower

Oh, for sure. I was hinting more in the 'looks' department.

So, the end of the season is upon us. We ran it in the 5 hour endurance race and did ok, 4th in class (8th overall). More importantly we had a ball beating up on it. The plan is to swap out my motors and tear this one down and check her condition. Aside from the endurance race she has a full season of club racing, two track days and 3 MotoAmerica races on it. Curious to see how it held up inside. It still pulls strong, sounds good, no smoke even on start up, uses no oil, w/very little blow back in airbox.

Hoonen down the front straight,

Meet team Odd Couple. That'd be Chris on my left and Chris on my right...

(They ain't chicks and they ain't slick but it's easier to remember their names at my age)
See y'all in the off season upgrade section of the local supermarket.

Chris had a GPS tracker on his phone in the pocket of his suit. I'm not claiming anything, just gonna leave this here,

Off season shenanigans somewhat curtailed by emergency drilling a new well, new softener, new plumbing, new pressure tank, new water heater, new, new...fuck...
Attached Image: IMG_20191018_095148.jpg
Anyway, I did sneak it apart during all the con(de)struction,
Attached Image: IMG_20191021_162225.jpg
Both motors checked out solid after leak down tests
Attached Image: IMG_20191021_162257.jpg
So the spare motor is getting the top end done by Zoran @ TWF
Attached Image: IMG_20191028_174110.jpg
It already had Web cams in it but will get ported and a fresh valve job. When done it'll be the same as this year's beast.

Bore looks really good...

Was hoping to do rods, pistons and an undercut tranny too but will be lucky to get a slipper clutch. Oh well, C'est la vie.

Tore this apart today,

To remove these,
Attached Image: IMG_20191113_163803.jpg
And replace them with these,
Attached Image: 22-1004.jpg
In the process decided to drill and tap the steering stops so I could replace the stuck on wheel weights with proper threaded stops,
Attached Image: IMG_20191110_144534.jpg
Bearings weren't horrible but certainly weren't perfect any more. It was time.
Suspension is at Trackside Labs.
This'll be a new bike again by spring, 😈

Road trip today. Invaded AP's shop to dumpster dive and came away some sweet booty. Scored a Dymag rear with related spacers, rotor and cush. A Yoyodyne slipper, underslung rear brake carrier with Brembo caliper, spare exhaust can, more fixable bodywork and a new aluminum subframe just like the real racers...(shut up Luke)

New rear ready to race is 28.2lbs, stock is 33lbs even, solid savings according to digital bathroom scale. Guessing subframe shaves another 5ish. I last weighed it at pittrace 2019 on MAs scale w/2 gals fuel it was 156kg.

I got the subframe measured and cut off. Weighs 7.8lbs. The new aluminum one weighs 1.8lbs. Saved another 6 off the top of the bike. Took another pound out of the battery box modifying that to fit.

Also made a fresh batch of Everclear apple pie moonshine for an upcoming BLR team meeting at the shop. No records of that event will be kept. Working up a new chilli recipe for next year too.

Careful with that apple pie! It hits hard!

I made two batches this year. A total of about 10+gal. Stuff is soooooooooo tasty!

Probably a good idea to just lock up your tools now and give the key to the wife till after all of the "good ideas" you have during the BLR meeting.
