Facebook sucks,
Millennials are fucked in the head.
Email notifications were great,
Now MNSBR is dead.

Well, there's a few that still hang out here, myself included. But yeah, forum software needs work and most people are too lazy to leave facebook. I think email notifications are the biggest key to getting more traffic here.

I agree. Notifications are the key. Bookface has been around a long time from what I've heard, but now that we get no emails people have left this place to die.

Can't stand the clutter of dumb posts on Facebook groups. It's a shame that there hasn't been much new traffic here, but that's the way the world is shifting. Other audio forums I've been apart of are also feeling this, so its not just us MNSBR'rs

Yeah, that's kind of why I asked. Other forums are closing up and I just think of all the information ("hey this doesn't work, etc...) going away.

So far I've resisted commenting on this but here goes... I don't see myself ever becoming a Facebook user. Hopefully, the kinds of posts I have made here have some lasting value (mostly trying to help guys fix their bikes). Forums should have an advantage over FB in this regard.

As I understand it, IP.Board's revenue model going forward is subscription-based in which you don't own anything but keep paying subscription fees forever. I would not want to go that way either unless there was some way to recoup the costs.

I know Jon has unsuccessfully tried to fix the notifications thing. There should be enough IT expertise here to get that done -- just reach out to the right people. I may even have some IP.Board documentation of the proper vintage in my files.

Search Facebook for historical stuff is impossible as near as I can tell.

If we upgrade to the current version, the lifetime license we have now is pretty well useless. They more or less are forcing long term people out (and into the pay as you go model).

I'm happy to sit down with someone and give it another shot.

It is what you put into it.
I notice that most of the Moderators dont come out of the racing section, or havent been active in some time.

Fun fact!

Had to <puke> update the OS on my lappy so I could actually backup/restore my phone <insert obligatory fuck you to Apple>. So like any competent user of computing equipment, I done did back it up before I risked getting Cooked (see what I did there? :P ).

On my old TB drive I found photos of a night out with you bunches maroons from a decade ago.

May I just say, that compared to then, I look like shit. And I didn't look good then.

My point? Pbbt! Don't need one. Y'all can kiss my ass!

Oh, and hi everyone. :D

Yeah... I checked... It's dead over there as well.

I cannot stand Facebook either. It's people posting up stupid questions that could be answered in 2 seconds with a google search or the same stupid picture/(fake) news story/joke that just gets shared from group to group to group. Most of it is shit I saw 10 years ago.
