Most states have a state snowmobile association, and then smaller clubs that are members of that larger organization.
The groomers are usually owned/leased by the smaller clubs, and operated by club members. In MN, grooming money comes from gas taxes, club membership, and club sponsorship (IE, sponsor the club and your watering hole/repair shop is listed on the trail map).

https://www.startrail.org/ (these are the ones by you)

Makes sense - I clicked that link and looked at the trail map, and confirmed where I see the groomed trails / groomers is all along Manning Ave so it is not longer a mystery! Always wondered since the groomers going looked like some pretty nice ($$$) equipment. Basically a full size and new looking JD Tractor pulling a large grooming sled behind it. That's a big budget!

Money for grooming also comes from registration and out of state trail stickers.

Picked this up a couple weeks ago...2018 Polaris Switchback Assault 800 144". Already have a couple hundred miles on it, riding trails mostly in Chisago/Washington counties.

Very nice. Lots of great trails up there.I haven't ridden them in over a decade, though.

Nice. Was hoping to get up north for a few more miles but the skiing at Lutsen is just too good!

Mark and I were up there. As much as i hate to say this, I cant wait for snow.

This was the first time ive been to Haydays and from the looks of it this sport is not dying. the amount of people, manufactures and venders was unbelievable.

I wish the motorcycling community still had this kind of enthusiasm.

Saw you guys there Saturday. Was my first time too. My cousin told me that it seemed smaller than years prior. Fewer vendors anyway.
