First Thursday is a slang term derived from the chronological recurrence of a popular gathering of motorized bicycle enthusiasts. It is also a well known as a pseudo-form of "peacocking". Instead of traditional peakcocking, where males broadcast their most attractive and colorful assets to female suitors in hopes of copulation, they choose to pursue a less lucrative goal of 'street cred'. Street cred is a highly sought after reward at First Thursday gatherings. It is common belief among participants, that by proudly displaying their motorized bicycle, the appearance of themselves and their property will garner respect and admiration from a large group of unknown peers. There seems to be no measurable return on this clout and it is a mystery why so many patrons return to such an event with impeccable regularity. It is truly a modern marvel that challenges Darwin's theory of evolution.

It started as a cafe/vintage group, didn't it? I haven't been so I don't know. But I have heard it's growing in popularity.
