We recently had our basement finished, and one little detail has been bothering me:

There is one can light that sits directly centered in line with the tv, and the glare bothers the shit out of me. The lights are dimmable, but Even turned way down you can still see the reflection pretty clearly. Thought about buying one of these:

TORCHSTAR High CRI90+ 6inch Dimmable Gimbal Recessed LED Downlight, 10W (75W Equiv.), ENERGY STAR, 2700K Soft White, 800lm, Adjustable LED Retrofit Lighting Fixture, 5 YEARS WARRANTY https://www.amazon.c...i_X4mjAb5AXAH4Z

Will that really solve the glare problem? Is there a better solution, short of taking that light out?

I think a gimbled light could solve the problem. You could test that idea by temporarily re-positioning your existing light. I expect there is enough wire length inside the fixture that you could tilt the light with something like cardboard.

Make a little shroud around that half of the light to block the light from shining on the TV.

I did this at my old house. Cardboard an masking tape did the trick

Have your electrician wire that can light to another switch

I'd just remove the bulb.
