Anybody here making it out to Theilman for the fall ride in a couple weeks? Should be a great time. I plan on getting out there Friday afternoon and can make extra room at camp if someone needs a spot. In the past if you show up Saturday morning, it can be tough to find a spot.

Every year something happens to keep me from making it to the Theilman ride.
This year, I'm making sure my son and I will get there for Sunday, September 8.

After hearing for years how it is the best riding anywhere, I can't wait to finally try it out.

I am more than likely in for sunday only. Weather will dictate if I change it to Saturday.
I can't do both.

I will more than likely be in the little circle at the end of the campground, feel free to come unload at my camp, or just stop by if you want to do a group ride.

Just a heads up, County Road 4 has been closed all summer. It's supposed to be open at the end of August, but you know how that goes. The detour is a winding hilly gravel road.

There has also been road work on MN-60 with often a single lane and pilot car -- not sure how that is progressing.

Weather sounds AWESOME this weekend. Low 70s. I might check out the place in Kellogg. Snake Creek trails.

Where is 4 closed at? I checked my route in maps and everything looks open. I take 60 the whole way until I hit 4, then south on 4 to Theilman.

County Road 4 was closed at 60 all the way to the town of Theilman. Work on CR-4 never showed up on the MNDOT website: http://www.dot.state...urrent.html#six

As of yesterday, MN-60 currently had a crew between Zumbro Falls and Wabasha: http://www.dot.state...ofalls-wabasha/

I'm headed that way Friday, Sept 6. I'll post if CR-4 is open or not.

Just had the following email exchange with a highway engineer from Wabasba county.

Quote

Q. I was wondering how work is progressing on County Road 4? Specifically, I'm wondering if it will be open by next Friday, September 6th?

A. It will likely be open this afternoon. However, County road 4 will be closing again Tuesday 9/3/19 at a bridge location 1/4 mile south of Theilman for repair work which is expected to last 2 weeks.

Bottom line, coming from the North you guys should have clear sailing to get to Theilman next weekend.

Still had some construction work going on Saturday am and we had to sit and wait for about 15 minutes for the one lane road to open up. Not bad.

Thats about how long I waited on Friday. But when I left on Sunday, it was all finished up.
