Heard about the guy that got killed yesterday after hitting a moose.
RIP

I was just riding up there last weekend.
After hitting 2 deer in the last 3 years I've been getting a bit paranoid of the wildlife.

I know many here say they have given up street riding all together.
I just can't....

Holy shit. A moose of all things. And in Milaca? I barely see moose when I'm fishing up by Canada.

This is the closest I've gotten to moose. I saw this mamma and baby up north swimming island to island looking for food. They did this 2 days in a row and we were fishing next to them both days.

I thought the same thing. The guy is from Milaca. He was way the hell up North between Red Lake and Kabetogema. I wonder if the moose fell on the guy. You'd think you could skate right under the thing, or take out a leg

I almost hit one on hwy 2 or hwy 1 about 15 miles south of isabella. It was probably about 10pm on a Thursday night, had left from the cities with the sled trailer after work to go snowmobiling. Lucky for us it was snowing pretty hard with decent accumulation on the road, so I was only going about 15-20mph. I came around a curve and saw a darker patch in the middle of the road about 75' in front of us, and thought "that is weird" and started easing on the brakes. A moment later it moved and I was like holy crap! Got the truck stopped in time and the big moose just sauntered off to the ditch. I'll never forget that moment!
