Nice! I've seen some SV superbikes with HVAC tubing as air intake. This is much classier.

One simply does not use hvac anything on a Yamaha.
I'm all about class.

Sacrificed a cup of coffee to the atmosphere when I checked the Rockwell factor of the earth with my coconut this morning. Moving along since the event,
slowly.

They say to be careful and not drop the timing chain into the crankcase when you're fooling around with it.
Fortunately you don't have to split the cases on the FZ you only have to take the clutch cover off.

Now it begins. Aside from maybe a gasket or fastner I should have everything for final assembly. Fairings need some crayola yet too. It'll be nice to be done worrying about deliveries and vendors and have time to putz with final assembly.

I just wish I could remember how it all goes together, lol.

Good thing I took a lot of pics,
and bought the Haynes manual.

She looks purdy when naked. Any hints to what the fairings will look like?

Going to trim the harness a bit Dave? Any other tinkering?

On my agenda is to "clean up" some of the stuff off the bike to try and save myself a few cheeseburgers worth of weight.

You already did the 'gluten-free' hack. I wish I could do that. I need to do "The Machinist" diet if I want to lose a decent chunk of weight.

I have no real idea what the paint will look like. Blue something I'm sure.

Decided against cutting up the harness any more. It worked good last year, if I go messing with it, it won't this year, lol.

Yea, need to do that again about 3 days before each race weekend. My personal best is losing 7lbs in 24 hours. Too bad it's not rotational weight!

If you find another turtle at the track it'll turn into rotational weight real quick....
