I can't believe I'm missing out on these things when they come out! What a beast of a car for $70k
https://www.motor1.c...le-only-for-us/

http://www.motortren...st-test-review/
"A Camaro engineer who I'm gonna name (Bill Wise) knocked off a 7:16.03 lap of the legendary Nordschleife circuit at the Nürburgring. For some perspective, a Ferrari Enzo did a 7:25.21, a Ferrari 488 GTB did a 7:21.63, and a Porsche 911 GT2 RS did a 7:18.00. Bill was driving a Camaro. Crazy, no? Want to hear crazier? That 7:16.03 is quicker than any other General Motors (cough, Corvette, cough) product has gone around the 'Ring. His time is also more than 13 seconds quicker than what the standard ZL1 has done, 7:29.60. Al's story, however, was one of tragedy. A little window of time had suddenly opened up one afternoon in Germany, and Bill jumped into the red ZL1 1LE and managed to run a lap in the 7:13 neighborhood. A Lexus LFA Nürburgring package ran a 7:14.64. But because everything happened so fast, Team Camaro didn't document it. No GoPro, no one thought to hit record on the PDR, no onboard data capture equipment—nothing. "

The car that ran those times was a $70k car?
The Camaro has been my favorite of the modern muscle car resurgence. The new mustangs are looking sharp as hell, too.

Dodge Viper seeks sub-7's but runs 7:01.3 in privately-funded, non-factory-backed run in a showroom-fresh, bone-stock ACR Viper with full-tread-depth street-legal tires

I'll always love the Viper more than any other muscle car :) (although to be fair, MSRP on stock 2017 ACR Viper is $118k)

The new ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package (order code A1Z) will cost $7,500, bringing MSRP of the 2018 ZL1 1LE to $69,995, which includes the $995 destination freight charge.

The badass new Corvette ZR1's will probably be about double the price of these ZL1 LE's!

Done with full tread depth street legal tires, but only lasted one lap and nearly killed the drivers, LOL. Khumo tires?!

Check out this fun tire fact:
The 295/25R19-inch front and 355/30R19-inch rear Kumho Ecsta V720 (Viper Edition) tires for the ACR are so radical most tire companies didn’t want to take on the project. Heuschele says Dodge talked to several manufacturers, but Kumho was the one willing to commit to a 20 treadwear tire that promises to hold up on the street like a 200 treadwear bit of rubber. “It’s not a qualifying tire that will go three laps and it’s done. We know our customers, and they like to do track days. That’s always a balance, how much grip, versus how much durability to make the customers happy. We could make the tires last half a season, but the car would be 3 seconds a lap slower.” You know a tire is special when it says the name of the car in raised rubber on the sidewall.

I enjoy cars just as much as the next guy, but who can justify $120k on something that depreciates so fast. Am I just that poor?

You're not poor. Unfortunately, you're just responsible so you don't go head over heels in debt with all of the latest and greatest luxuries. Money isn't real to a lot of society these days. Just take out a loan and all people think about is the monthly payment. We cater to the stupid and take advantage of it because it makes money. At which point should it be regulated so society doesn't go full Idiocracy? I think there's a wave of Gen X'ers that used to be responsible until they saw their kids grow up and get really nice things on credit, and then they fell they deserve better and do the same. It's crazy that a lot of people's car budgets are either a used car under $5000, or a brand new car for around $20,000.

Do younger people care about 401k's, or do they assume they'll be taken care of by the government if they live to be old? We need a rule that you can't take out unless you've put more in to society/government. If you are on the receiving end, you should be made infertile until you can successfully support yourself. Has anyone checked out the completely idiotic videos that are huge hits on YouTube? Hour long videos of playing with slime or squishing their hands in Gak... WTF?

...this just turned into a mind dump of "what grinds my gears"

I tried to find a Tide Pod challenge video, but they were all fake. Then I found a YouTube called the Rich Family, or something stupid, and then I was really triggered that people try to show off their regular day to day life as thuper duper exciting. YouTube is full of idiots.

PS - I just heard about Logan Paul going to some sacred forest in Japan where people commit suicide and he filmed a dead guy. I recommend the movie "Nerve". It creepily seems where things are headed in our future of watching people do things for viewers and money. Exciting movie

It's the new form of parenting. They give each of their kids a tablet and let them watch whatever the F they want all day, as long as they leave mommy and daddy alone to sit and binge watch Netflix on the couch.

This is where the wage gap is coming from. Some people are incapable of not achieving something all of the time, so they keep busting ass and moving forward with projects and goals. Those people are the ones buying $120k cars because, meh, they have the cash for it and cars are badass. I think there's a trigger that flips after we turn 30 too. You aren't up-and-coming and making a name for yourself at your new job anymore, so you get comfortable and plateau off. That and marriage, kids, etc...
