I am starting this thread because I think it would be useful to have this "stuck" in this section. It seems as if once a week there is someone looking for a good mechanic. Please leave a name and contact info of someone you know and have had a good experience with. Thank you.

I would like to add that a Good tech is worth what ever he charges. I see alot of posts that start off with "I need a good CHEAP mechanic"

I submit that you already have a cheap mechanic in yourself: Buy the book and have at it. If you want a good one then you will have to pay him for his expertise, and this is not to be considered a mortal sin. If you and your buddies can tackle it in the garage that is the least expensive way to do stuff, but it usually takes more time and does not come with a waranty, so it could cost more in the long run.

This doesn't mean you can't do anything yourself, it only means if you want a good one, a good one charges for his work and if he is really good he should charge more.

Some of you may know my buddy Joe Birchhill (goes by Birch). He races at BIR (#11). Available on weekends and possibly some evenings too. Prices are fair, work is top notch. He can do carbs, forks, fluids, general maintenance, and the like. Centrally located in Richfield. Catch him at 612-669-4486 or birch@ignitionmoto.com

I've been to that shop in 04. I didn't know much about anything and he was explaining to me how a transmission work. I was overloaded with information. Good guy...

Cities-edge did an outstanding job on my 06 Suzuki 1000 even after another dealer messed it up.

They were very professional and worked with Suzuki to get the bike back to 100%.

The service manager Pat and mechanic Nick were very cool to deal with and did not try to charge me for warranty work.

I highly recommend you give them a try.
