So 500-700 racers, teams and staff and emergency personell is okay but letting 500-1000 fans attend is not? ridiculous

This whole coronavirus crap is just that, crap. If the weak, old and immune challenged are the only people really in danger like it appears, then let everyone else live their lives and only request those people take special precautions. this whole thing is just 10000000% government overreach and media hyped over reaction.

It's not 500 to 1,000 fans, not with the vintage fest attached, it's closer to 5,000 or 6,000. And it's more the workers you need for food, people cleaning the facility, gates, security, etc. It's fine you don't think thus is serious and are OK with older or immune challenged people potentially dying; I'm not, and neither should the government or society as a whole. If this saves 1 life, it's worth inconveniencing me a little bit. Half the people in attendance at these events are immune challenged.

They rescheduled the events for a month later, you'll live.

And if they get a good reception on the "televised" races maybe they will start doing that again and in a format I can watch without subscribing to it, that could also be a bonus to the sport.

I'm okay with sports keeping the audience out a while longer, but keeping everyone from work, at this point in time, is ridiculous.

It's closer to 100 racers, and I thought spectator attendance was north of 10,000.

I would think with the vintage fest going on the same weekend you'd be closer to 200 racers but yeah, a typical Moto race would probably be 100 or so. As far as fans, I'm not surprised it's that many.

The racers have support staff. there is medical personel. there is the food venders etc all there already

but at any rate I never said let the old and immune challenged die and give no cares in the world.

I said quit fucking with healthy people who this will have zero or very minimal affect on, worst case scenario you feel ill a few days, boohoo, no worse than the common flu

isolate the weak.

There is a huge difference between between quarantining the ill and the weak and imprisoning everyone

I went back and reread your original comment, and I think I just misread it originally - I thought you meant 500-700 racers, PLUS teams and staff, not 500-700 WITH teams and staff.

My fault!

Remember, we don't all live in a vacuum. You can't totally isolate those who are ill, elderly, or compromised. They still need others to care for them and assist them, and they may want visitors so they are not lonely. So if you are helping your parents or grandparents and get exposed as you are out and about you are likely to be transmitting disease to them before you even know you are sick.
